VP Water Treatment Sales West

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The Sales, VP of the West Zone is responsible for leading, developing, and managing the sales functions within their assigned zone to achieve market penetration and sales goals. The Sales, VP of the Midwest assumes responsibility for the direct sales portion of the overall zone sales targets and is also responsible for driving the professional development of direct sales staff, in-field coaching, training, and performance evaluation.

Location:  Western US (Remote)

Travel- 50-80%

Compensation:  $175-200K plus bonus

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Develop and Execute Sales Strategy: Collaborate with the executive team to define the sales strategy and objectives for your area, aligning them with company goals. Create and implement comprehensive sales plans to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Team Management and Leadership: Provide strong leadership and guidance to a team of Regional Managers, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting teamwork. Set clear performance expectations, provide coaching and mentorship, and drive professional development initiatives. Be the escalation point for complicated situations internal/external, conflicts, large deals, corporate policy interpretation and customer issues.
  • Sales Performance and Forecasting: Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, including revenue, pipeline, and conversion rates. Control expenses to meet budgetary guidelines.  Regularly review progress against sales targets and take corrective actions as needed. Provide accurate sales forecasts and contribute to overall business planning and budgeting.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers and strategic partners in zone. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Total Solutions, and Sales Success, and other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience and maximum customer satisfaction.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities. Use zone market insights to inform sales.
  • Sales Process Optimization: Evangelize the new sales process enhancements and leverage sales enablement tools, technologies, and best practices to drive productivity and enhance the customer journey. Continually assess skill sets and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to sales representatives and RMs in order to meet objectives, reinforce processes, and provide guidance.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes to ensure they are communicated and implemented within the sales team.

 

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in technical discipline and/or minimum 10 years sales experience in water treatment industry with progressively increased responsibility
  • Proven experience in developing and managing sales teams and previous experience managing Second Line Managers (managing managers) is strongly preferred
  • Successful sales history with continued growth in total company sales, while maintaining and increasing total company sales profit margins
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, ability to work in a matrix environment
  • Ability to successfully manage and train sales personnel to meet company sales goals and objectives

 

Physical and Mental requirements: Being able to do the following in a safe and effective manner.

  1. Climbing, ascending, and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and industrial equipment, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
  2. Reaching and extending hands and arms in any direction.
  3. Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction,
  4. Standing and walking for sustained periods of time.
  5. Pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, and stooping for sustained periods of time.
  6. Using upper extremities to move objects and equipment with steady force.
  7. Operating a motor vehicle for extended periods of time, sometimes requiring overnight travel.
  8. Following customer safety rules and procedures.
