VP of SHEQ
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The Vice President, SHEQ is responsible for the overall strategy, governance, risk management, and performance of the company’s Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality functions.
This role provides enterprise leadership across multiple business units, facilities, field operations, and customer environments. The VP establishes the company’s SHEQ strategy and standards, ensures regulatory and quality compliance, strengthens operational risk management, and builds a culture of safety and quality throughout the organization. Responsible for developing and managing the company’s SHEQ operating and capital budgets, establishing resource priorities, and evaluating investments in personnel, systems, equipment, training, and risk-reduction initiatives.

Comp: $150-200K base plus bonus
Duties and Responsibilities
SHEQ Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and lead the company’s enterprise SHEQ strategy, policies, standards, and performance objectives.
- Establish a culture of safety, quality, compliance, and accountability across the organization.
- Provide executive leadership and direction to the SHEQ function and team.
Risk & Regulatory Compliance
- Provide oversight of environmental, health, safety, and regulatory compliance across facilities, field operations, projects, and customer sites.
- Identify and manage enterprise SHEQ risks, including chemical handling, hazardous materials, transportation, environmental requirements, and field safety.
- Ensure appropriate systems, processes, and controls are in place to meet applicable regulatory and company requirements.
Quality Management
- Provide executive oversight of the Quality Management System, ISO certification, quality standards, audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure quality requirements are integrated into operations, projects, equipment, chemical programs, suppliers, subcontractors, and customer engagements.
- Partner with business leaders to address systemic quality issues and improve customer outcomes.
Industry Expertise
- Apply deep SHEQ expertise of industrial processes, with a strong understanding of chemical treatment, water treatment processes, field service, equipment, and customer operations.
- Bring experience supporting industrial water treatment customers and applications, including food & beverage, refining/petrochemical, semiconductor and microelectronics/ultrapure water, pharmaceutical, power, chemical, and industrial manufacturing.
- Understand the unique SHEQ risks, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations associated with water treatment operations and industrial end markets.
Operational Partnership & Performance
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Sales, Service, and other business leaders to embed SHEQ into business decisions, projects, and daily operations.
- Establish meaningful SHEQ metrics and reporting, identify trends and systemic risks, and drive measurable improvement.
- Advise Executive Leadership on significant SHEQ risks, regulatory matters, customer requirements, and strategic priorities.
Leadership & Organizational Development
- Build and develop a high-performing SHEQ organization with clear roles, accountability, and performance expectations.
- Develop SHEQ leadership capability throughout the organization and hold leaders accountable for safety and quality performance.
- Lead cross-functional and enterprise-wide SHEQ initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety, Quality, or related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive EHS, Quality, or SHEQ leadership experience, including significant senior-level responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience in technical or engineer support, field service, environment and customer operations.
- Demonstrated experience leading SHEQ across multiple facilities and field operations.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT/PHMSA and applicable environmental, chemical, and safety regulations.
- Experience with ISO-based Quality Management Systems and external certification processes.
- Experience supporting complex industrial customers and regulated environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and hold operational leaders accountable for EHSQ performance.
- Strong executive communication, business acumen, risk-management, and strategic leadership capabilities.
