Business Systems Analyst

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The Business Systems Analyst owns the analysis, development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of business processes, reporting tools, and data systems that support GWE Internal Operations. This role serves as the primary owner and GWE subject matter resource for Business Central (ERP) job module activities, using independent judgment to evaluate workflows, resolve system and reporting issues, document and improve processes, and recommend solutions that enhance operational efficiency, data accuracy, and cross-functional decision-making.

Location: Brooklyn Park, MN

Pay: $75,000-$80,000

Responsibilities:

•    Serve as the GWE jobs module subject matter expert, own and evaluate Business Central (BC) job module processes, including related cross functional processes; exercise independent judgment to assess process effectiveness, resolve escalated issues, and recommend improvements that strengthen operational efficiency and system accuracy from planning through implementation.
•    Evaluate and monitor inputs to support efficient jobs module execution to ensure accurate implementation of project requirements.   
•    Assess Business Central GWE user needs and develop training resources that improve adoption, consistency, and effective system use.
•    Oversee creation, processing, and obtaining approval of timesheets for timely job expense allocation.
•    Cross trained and backup to the Internal Operations Team including entry of planning lines and production orders within BC
•    Partner with IT and internal stakeholders to evaluate business requirements, prioritize system enhancements, oversee process changes, support software rollouts, and guide implementation activities to ensure solutions meet operational needs.
•    Design, develop, analyze, and maintain customized reports, dashboards, and performance metrics using SQL queries, Power BI, advanced Excel tools, and other data sources to provide actionable insights, support business decisions, and drive operational improvements.
•    Own and optimize M-Files functionality by configuring metadata structures, designing automated workflows, governing user access, improving data organization, and implementing system updates that strengthen business process performance.
•    Lead or support other analytical, systems, reporting, and process improvement initiatives that require independent judgment, cross-functional coordination, and business process expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree
  • 3+ years of work experience
  • Ability to write and apply SQL queries to analyze business data, develop automated reports, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to evaluate, improve, and document GWE department workflow processes to support operational consistency, efficiency, and system alignment.
  • Working knowledge of organizational procedures, business processes, and workflow practices, with the ability to assess process impacts and recommend improvements.
  • Ability to create and follow established procedures, make sound recommendations, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information, advise stakeholders, and interpret data with sound numerical aptitude.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook, including the ability to use these tools to analyze information, prepare business documentation, and support reporting and process improvement initiatives.
